Copyright and Cultural Institutions: Guidelines for Digitization for US Libraries, Archives and Museums

This manual by Peter Hirtle, Emily Hudson and Andrew Kenyon is intended to provide some basic information on copyright law and offer a structure for considering copyright issues in digitization projects undertaken by libraries, archives and museums in the United States. This publication was used by Jane Anderson for her session on intellectual property at the 2015 ATALM pre-conference workshop sponsored by the Sustainable Heritage Network titled "Developing Tools to Navigate Intellectual Property and Protect Cultural Heritage," held in Washington DC on September 10, 2015.
