Deed of Gift - Karuk Tribe

This is an example of a Deed of Gift developed by the Karuk Tribe. A Deed of Gift is a formal and legal agreement between the donor and the repository that transfers ownership of and legal rights to the donated materials. The document was provided by Lisa Hillman, Karuk Food Security Project Coordinator, during her session on protocols and agreements at the 2015 ATALM pre-conference workshop sponsored by the Sustainable Heritage Network titled "Developing Tools to Navigate Intellectual Property and Protect Cultural Heritage," held in Washington DC on September 10, 2015.
