Quick and Easy Archival Care of Photographs

In this video, Ryan Flahive, Archivist, Institute of American Indian Arts, and Jessie Ryker-Crawford, Associate Professor, Institute of American Indian Arts, discuss methods of caring for and storing photographs that utilize various archivally appropriate materials and techniques. Topics such as environmental control, encapsulation, and storage containers are examined in the context of protecting prints, cased photographs such as tintypes and daguerreotypes, and glass plate and film-based negatives. This session was part of the ATALM annual conference held in Prior Lake, Minnesota, on October 8-11, 2018.
