Introduction to Digital Preservation

In this presentation, Danielle Mericle, Digital Archives Project Manager at University of Oregon Libraries, discusses what is digital preservation, why is important, the goals of a digital preservation plan, and where to start with your plan. She also provides best practices on storing digital files, file fixity and data integrity, information security, and metadata; and walks you through the development of a digital preservation policy.
