Digitization and preservation assistance for organizations and the Hawaiian community
OHA recognizes the importance of digital collections, both public and private, that preserve knowledge for future generations to access. To address this, Hale Noelo offers training in and access to digitization equipment and preservation services for organizations and individuals who have collections that pertain to ‘ike Hawai‘i.

Genealogy research technical assistance
OHA recognizes the importance of genealogy to Kanaka Maoli. Hale Noelo provides genealogy technical assistance, focusing on how to research genealogy, where to find specific genealogical documents, and what documents are needed to apply for the Kuleana Tax Exemption. In doing so, OHA empowers Native Hawaiians to learn about and research their ancestors. Proper genealogical research will better prepare Native Hawaiians to participate in social, cultural, and political systems, through an improved understanding of ancestral and cultural connections.

Access to subscription-based online resources
OHA recognizes the importance of providing access to information from and about Hawai‘i In order to advance the knowledge base of Hawai‘i’s researchers, Hale Noelo provides access to online subscription based resources focusing on genealogy, newspaper, journals, and other publications.
