Federal Repository Research

A webinar recording from the CDSC Spring 2021 Webinar Series that discusses research in federal repositories

In this presentation, Clara Gorman and Rachel Bickel (Mukurtu Fellows) discuss the process of conducting research in federal repositories including the Library of Congress (LOC) and the Smithsonian Institution (SI). This webinar provides an overview of how collection and institutional histories influence the types of materials housed in each repository, strategies for locating materials relevant to specific communities, and options for providing feedback on their display and description in the record. In addition, the webinar showcases various resources available to researchers both online and on-site, and give tips on successful strategies for conducting research both inside and outside the reading room.
