Dream Big: The Chilocco Boarding School Oral History Project
In this video, David Peters, Head and Associate Professor, Archives at Oklahoma State University, and Julie Pearson-Little Thunder, Visiting Assistant Professor at the Oklahoma Oral History Research Program at Oklahoma State University, share how a collaboration between the Oklahoma Oral History Research program at Oklahoma State University and alumni from the historic Chilocco Indian School grew into an ambitious, grant-funded project with a website, broadcast documentary, and K-12 curriculum. The project is providing alumni with more visibility as well as a digitized, curated archive to support fundraising efforts for a cultural center. This video supplements the session "Dream Big: The Chilocco Boarding School Oral History Project?" given at the 2019 ATALM annual conference held in Temecula, California, on October 8-11, 2019.
