Care and Storage of Audiovisual Materials

This powerpoint was used for the session titled "Physical Care and Storage of Audio Visual Materials" given my Marcia Segal at the 2015 Sustainable Heritage Network Post-ATALM Workshop, held at the Library of Congress in Washington DC on September 15. Some of the topics covered in this presentation include basic tasks in caring for audiovisual materials; things to have in consideration before beginning an inventory; how to appropriately identify physical items and digital files; handling and storing AV materials; and how to develop a disaster response plan for your collection. The powerpoint also provides a selection of format guides and guidance about AV formats.
