A Call to Action: Collecting, Preserving, and Sharing Boarding School Records

In this session, Christine Diindiisi McCleave, Executive Officer, National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition and Rose Miron, Ph.D., Program Manager, National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition, discuss how the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS) is working to create a centralized repository of boarding school records which currently are spread out across the archives of federal agencies, churches, universities, historical societies, and other repositories. This presentation highlights the key role of tribal archives, libraries, and museums in raising awareness about Indian Boarding School history. This session was part of the ATALM annual conference held in Prior Lake, Minnesota, on October 8-11, 2018.
