Archival Description Good, Better, Best

Description:

This document provides some baseline standards for describing archival collections and ways to improve upon the baseline provided. The standard described in the document is intended for use by institutions with varying levels of resources. The recommendations in this document can be applied to descriptions created in a number of different formats, from a typewritten document for onsite use to an XML document that can be represented in an online context. This document is based on Describing Archives: A Content Standard (DACS) with the underlying assumption that describing all collections at some level is a primary goal for all institutions.
