In this video, Maggie Kruesi, Folklife Specialist at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, discusses the definition and importance of metadata when accessing collections held by your institution. Some of the topics covered include: metadata for audiovisual recordings; concepts for understanding metadata standards; controlled vocabularies and authority files; and metadata for digital projects and online access. This session was part of the 2015 Post-ATALM SHN Workshop held at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC on September 13-15, 2015.
