Led by Guha Shankar, Folklife Specialist, Research and Programs, Folklife Center, Library of Congress, and Michael Wynne, Digital Applications Librarian, Washington State University (WSU). This hands-on session on audio digitization was a part of he 2016 Post-ATALM Sustainable Heritage Network Workshop. This session covers project planning, conversion, metadata, basic editing, quality control, and more. While the session focused on audio cassette digitization, many of the details described in the presentation slides and handouts apply to any audio digitization project. In addition to audio digitization, the session covered basic oral history techniques for those looking to document cultural heritage and preserve that documentation digitally.
