2016 Alaska Native Language Archive SHN Workshop
Description:
The Alaska Native Language Archive hosted a workshop on Digital Heritage Preservation for Alaska Native Libraries, Archives, and Museums, on March 9-10, 2016. This two-day workshop covered basic digitization planning, preservation, workflows, and project organization, as well as issues specific to Alaska Native languages and Mukurtu CMS. Participants learned best practices for digitizing documents, photographs, and audio recordings, as well as strategies for mobilizing these resources to make them more useful and accessible to patrons. Participants worked directly with demonstration materials, hardware, and software on site.
