2015 ATALM Archives: Incorporating the Protocols for Native American Archival Materials into the Curriculum

Description:

In this presentation, Janet Ceja, Professor at the Simmons College, discusses how she incorporated the Protocols for Native American Collections in her Information Studies courses at the University of Arizona. She describes how she uses the Protocols and a decolonization framework in a course titled "Documenting Diverse Cultures." She mentions that students are interested in meeting with practitioners who have implemented the protocols, develop relationships of mutual respect, and creating practical tools useful for Native American communities. This meeting was part of the pre-conference activities for the 2015 ATALM annual conference in Washington, DC on September 9, 2015.
