Native Artists and Scholars Bring Past to Present Program Overview
In this video, Diana Folsom, Director of Digital Collections at the Gilcrease Museum/University of Tulsa and Ann Early, State Archeologist at Arkansas Archeological Survey, University of Arkansas, introduce the IMLS-funded project: "Native Artists and Scholars Bring Past to Present: Multi-Disciplinary Perspectives for Mississippian Culture Pottery." In addition to providing an overview of the project, Dr. Early discusses her work at the Arkansas Archeological Survey, her role in the project and the benefits of using the Distant Cataloging Interface (DCI) for cataloging Caddo ceramic collections from home. This video supplements the session, "Native Artists and Scholars Bring Past to Present: Cataloguing from Home" given at the 2017 ATALM annual conference held in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico, on October 10-13, 2017.
