The Importance of Having a Disaster Plan for Audiovisual Materials
In this video, Marcia Segal, Processing Archivist at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, discusses the importance of having disaster response plans in place for audiovisual collections, especially when your institution hold materials that cannot be replaced. Marcia mentions some online resources that provide information relevant to disaster planning and provides some tips on how to implement a disaster response plan. This video supplements the SHN session, "Physical Care and Storage of Audiovisual Materials" given at the 2015 Post-ATALM SHN Workshop, held at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC on September 13-15, 2015.
